TransitionZero expands data, modelling and insights teams

London, U.K, Tuesday 1 November 2022: The climate data startup TransitionZero has bolstered its data, modelling and insights teams following steady growth, in the organisation’s second full year of operation.

The climate analytics not-for-profit is excited to announce the appointment of:

Abhishek has a PhD from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology and was recently an integrated modelling expert to the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs. Abhishek recently published an article in Nature on OSeMOSYS Global, an open-source, open data global electricity system model generator, which will be utilised for FEO.

  • Dr. Lucas Kruitwagen as Head of Technology to lead the development of TransitionZero’s data stack to increase the resolution and fidelity of FEO. Lucas has a PhD from the University of Oxford and was previously the data lead of Oxford University’s Sustainable Finance Programme at the Smith School. Matt Gray, Co-founder and CEO of TransitionZero commented on the appointments:
“We are delighted to have Abhi, Lucas and Seb join the team as we prepare for the next phase of our growth. Decision-makers need more flexible and specific modelling tools and Abhishek's background in developing OSeMOSYS Global, an open-source energy modelling system, will allow us to hit the ground running. Furthermore, Lucas’ impressive track record as a machine learning researcher in sustainable finance will be incredibly valuable as we look to scale up our technology team, while Seb’s experience as an established energy journalist and market analyst will be critical in refining our insights function.”
